IGT Extends Contract with Minnesota Lottery

The Minnesota Lottery has agreed on a two-year extension of its instant ticket games contract with the gaming operator, International Game Technology (IGT).

Under the terms of the new contract, (the original which was penned in 2010), IGT will continue to supply its instant ticket services to the Lottery.

Before 2010, IGT and Minnesota Lottery agreed to a separate contract for the operator to become the lottery’s technology and draw-based lottery systems provider.

The director of operations for Minnesota Lottery, Wes Harms, said that every time someone plays a Minnesota Lottery game, it generates funding to support the state’s environment and state services. As such, he said, it was imperative that the lottery is able to deliver fun games and play styles that players are looking for.

“We are pleased that IGT will continue to help us provide the quality scratch games and licensed property games that our players want for the next two years,” he said.

Adding to the narrative was the chief operating officer for lottery at IGT, Jay Gendron, who said that the group takes pride in working hand-in-hand with the Minnesota Lottery to design entertaining games, based on extensive research, game planning and strategic marketing.

“We look forward to delivering these player-centric services and innovative content over the next two years as we continue to help ensure the Minnesota Lottery’s success,” he added.

It was only last month at IGT extended its contract with the New York Lottery, to remain on as the lottery’s technology and services provider for another two years.

Under the terms of the New York deal, IGT will deliver 400 of its new GameTouch self-service vending machines to the Lottery. It will also provide the lottery will additional services such as the installation and maintenance of lottery terminals, call center support and more.
