The leading supplier of internet gambling software, GAN, has announced the signing of a ten year agreement with Wynn Resorts. Under the terms of the deal, GAN will supply its online betting and gaming platform to Wynn’s land-based properties in Michigan.
The announcement follows news that the Michigan Gaming Control Board is set to submit proposed sports betting regulations for the state to adopt new legislation. If all goes well, online betting and gaming will be permitted to go live in Michigan at at least one of the state’s three commerical casino and one tribal casino, after they are granted a license.
In its statement, GAN said that it expected to launch Wynn online next month, as long as all regulatory approvals were obtained.
The chief commercial officer of GAN, Jeffrey B. Berman said that the group looks forward to powering the Wynn brand in Michigan with its highly optimized technology platform, “enabling Wynn to efficiently invest their marketing capital to attract loyal sports betting and igaming players.”
“We are pleased to onboard Wynn, with its national casino brand and substantial Michigan-region patron base, as a major operator client and are excited at the opportunity presented by potential roll-outs in multiple additional states in the future,” he said.
The Michigan Control Board expects online betting and gaming to launch by late fall. The launch was brought forward from early 2021 in order to offset losses experienced by the land-based gaming sector due to Covid-19.
Sports betting has already launched at retail locations across the state, both at tribal and land-based casinos, after it was legalized in December last year. All three of the state’s commercial casinos, as well as the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Firekeepers Casino have launched betting products.
