FanDuel Becomes Official Partner to AGA Reponsible Gambling Initiative

An initiative was announced this week between FanDuel and the American Gaming Association (AGA) in a bid to promote the latter’s responsible gambling campaign, Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibily.

This makes FanDuel the first mobile sportsbook operator to partner with the AGA. The partnership includes collaboration with all FanDuel’s league, team and media partners as well.

As per Matt King, the CEO of FanDuel Group:

As the mobile gaming industry leader in the U.S., we believe promoting responsible gaming behaviors is a core tenet of growing our business and the industry as a whole. We are not only going to commit substantial FanDuel resources to promote Have a Game Plan but we intend to build a consortium of partners throughout the sports and gaming business to scale this initiative and we encourage other operators to join us.

FanDuel has committed to a multi-million-dollar venture that will include direcing its league and team assets to message strongly about responsible gambling. The campaign will be driven across all media channels, including TV, radio, digital and in-venue.

The American Gaming Association welcomed FanDuel’s commitment to its Have a Game Plan campaign, saying that the sportsbook operator’s support could note have come at a better time.

The CEO and President of the AGA, Bill Miller, pointed out that responsibility to customers has always been a pillar of AGA member operations.

“Extending this to meet the new realities of an expanded sports betting ecosystem is going to require full collaboration with everyone involved in it – gaming operators, media companies and leagues and teams,” said Miller. “We’re excited to have a partner like FanDuel to help extend this important initiative.”

Sports betting is currently legal in 25 states in the US and the District of Columbia. The market continues to expand at a rapid pace and it is important to promote fan and consumer education through sportsbooks and groups such as the AGA.
