Go the site pokervt.com and the first thing that you will see is the face of Daniel Negreanu talking to you and promising to tell you all of his poker secrets. Negreanu is one of, if not THE most famous poker personality on the poker circuit today and his poker training website lends a great deal of weight to this site even before the gamer has had the opportunity to browse the content on display. The site is simplistic but impressive nonetheless.

Negreanu’s opening message is well delivered via a flash video and the content on the site is clearly marked and simple to access. There is a nice “test your knowledge” section on the site which makes it possible for the player to discover on his own whether or not he really requires the help supplied by the site for a price. This is an interesting little extra and I haven’t seen it on any other poker training site.

More than Just Negreanu

Negreanu is not the only poker pro to be working through the site. There are several other professionals on board with the site, many of whom have racked up several million dollars in career winnings making this a site that punches very highly in terms of the added value to the poker players using it. There are also player testimonials as to the effectiveness of the site and the usefulness of some of the lessons to their poker careers. This added value places pokervt very highly on the scale of poker training websites.

Blogs and Forums Yadayada

Naturally the site includes the usual necessities of poker training sites such as blogs and forums where players can communicate with each other about their individual poker problems as well as achievements. These shouldn’t be underestimated in terms of aiding the future professional’s morale and in allowing them to be taught not just by very well known professionals but also by their peers. The one problem that I have with this site and it is a gripe that I have with several other poker sites is that the payment scheme is unclear, a mistake that could be easily rectified.

The Cost of PokerVT

Some of these poker training sites charge a signup fee for new members and some don’t, this site does. As far as I can make out it costs $130 to signup for three months. This cost includes a registration fee though further details on this registration fee are not clear and really should be.

PokerVT Conclusion

In my final assessment I would say that this is a top notch poker training site in fact probably the best that I have seen so far. It is a shame that such a good site is let down by the poor explanations as to cost.
